TOTAL BODY CHLORIDE IN TUBERCULOUS MENINGITIS

[摘要] Seven children with tuberculous meningitis have been studied. In the absence of fluid restriction and vomiting, hypotonic expansion of the extracellular fluid has been revealed. This draws attention to an alteration in water excretion. Metabolic alkalosis yields evidence of cell potassium depletion.The serum chloride is no indication as to the status of total body chloride.
