DISORDERS OF GONADAL DEVELOPMENT
[摘要] In 1947, Professor Alfred Jost completed a series of classical experiments with the fetal rabbit from which it was shown that early castration in utero resulted in phenotypic femaleness, regardless of genetic sex.1 These observations indicated that masculine differentiation of the internal ducts and of the primordia from which the external genitalia evolve depends solely upon the presence of the fetal testis. It followed also that the fetal ovary is not a determinant of feminine organogenesis, while the testis blocks feminization and induces masculinization. At about the seventh gestational week, both female (Müllerian) and male (Wolffian) ducts are present in the fetus.
