RESTRICTION VERSUS EXPLORATION IN THE NEWBORN NURSERY

[摘要] THE last few decades have witnessed interesting developments in the hospital care of newborn infants. But the visible manifestations of these may have been less significant than the changes in fundamental principles underlying them. Two brief items in this issue of Pediatrics suggest that such a shift of basic theory is now finding expression.One who participated in the efforts which culminated in the first Standards and Recommendations for Hospital Care of Newborn Infants in 1943 recalls the procedure unconsciously or consciously followed.
