Sobrepeso e obesidade em crianças e adolescentes de Jacarezinho- Paraná

[摘要] O presente estudo objetivou identificar prevalência de sobrepeso e obesidade em crianças e adolescentes de Jacarezinho-PR. Selecionou-se 114 escolares (53 do sexo feminino e 61 masculino) que foram submetidos a aferição de massa corporal e estatura. A classificação do IMC deu-se através das tabelas referenciais para a. Utilizou-se o método descritivo, distribuição de freqüência e o teste t adotando p<0,05. Não houve diferenças significantes no IMC entre os gêneros e altas prevalências de sobrepeso foram verificadas, tanto de forma geral (30,7%) como de acordo com o gênero (29,5% para meninos e 32,1% para meninas) e quanto a obesidade, identificou-se uma prevalência total de 4,4% e para os gêneros, os valores foram de 1,6% para meninos e 7,5% para meninas. Os resultados encontrados revelam que a prevalência de sobrepeso foi elevada em ambos os sexos, e quanto a obesidade os valores foram inferiores ou semelhantes ao apresentado pela literatura. ABSTRACT

This study aimed to identify prevalence of overweight and obesity in children and adolescents from Jacarezinho-PR. We selected 114 students (53 female and 61 male) which were submitted toweight and height measurements. The classification for BMI was given by reference charts for a.
