Imagem corporal: construção através da cultura do belo

[摘要] A imagem corporal é a maneira pela qual o corpo se apresenta para si próprio. A indústria cultural pelos meios de comunicação encarrega-se de criar desejos e reforçar imagens padronizando corpos. Olhares voltam-se ao corpo na contemporaneidade sendo moldado por atividades físicas, cirurgias plásticas e tecnologias estéticas. O objetivo deste estudo será identificar distorções da Imagem Corporal em estudantes de Educação Física. A amostra foi composta por 102 alunos (47F/55M) de uma cidade do interior de São Paulo. Como instrumento utilizou-se o Body Shape Questionnare (Cordas, T.A; Castilho, S.1994) em que foi aplicado coletivamente. As medidas foram analisadas qualitativamente apresentando dados relevantes sobre a preocupação do corpo nos estudantes pesquisados.

ABSTRACT

The corporal image is the way through which the body presents itself to itself. The culture industry, through the media, charges itself to provoke desire and reinforce images standardizing bodies. Eyes back to the body in the contemporaneousness being shaped by physical activities, plastic surgeries and esthetic technologies. The goal of this study will be to identify distortions of the Corporal Image in Physical Education students. The sample was made of 102 students (47F/55M) of a country town in São Paulo. The “Body Shape Questionnaire” (Cordàs, T.A.; Castilho, S. 1994), witch was collectively applied, was used as an instrument in the study. The measurements were qualitatively analyzed showing relevant data about concerns within the body among the students used in the research.
