METamphorae: from emotion to metaphor from sentiment to symbol

[摘要] MetAmphorae chronicles the evolution of MetAmphorae, andPersonae, the two installations inspired by the war on Gaza(2008-2009), which served as my thesis show(s), along with anearlier installation which was a precursor to both. I willpresent the research I conducted to arrive at the appropriateforms for these installations, and the history of my intuitions inconceiving and making them. Inspired by emotionally impactingpolitical circumstances, the art projects discussed in this thesisinvestigate my attempt to harness emotion into metaphor, andto reshape personal sentiment into universal symbol.
