A Computer Technique for Projecting Yields of Even-Aged Red Pine in the Lake States

[摘要] The projection of stand growth and volume yields foreven-aged red pine in the Lake States has been simulatedby a computer technique. Capabilities of the model permitthe use of various silvicultural treatments throughout thelife of a stand, therefore, varying the total yields. Thismethod of projection can give extremely fast results witha high degree of reliability.An application of the model is presented for a centralWisconsin plantation. By applying a cost-benefit analysis toeach silvicultural alternative chosen, the highest possibleinternal rate of return on investment is determined.
