La courbe de Gauss ou le théorème de Bernoulli raconté aux enfants

[摘要] The purpose of this paper is mainly educational. It is an introduction to the main stages of the elaboration of the Gaussian “Law of error”, from the end of the XVIIth Century (Jacob Bernoulli) to the beginning of the XXth Century. It shows the logical links between the successive ideas which would result in the actual conception of this law, such as presented in the current elementary teaching of probabilities.
