[摘要] More than 100 causes of hypoglycemia have been reported, with drugs being the most prevalent. In individuals with type 1 diabetes, hypoglycemia is the most consequential and feared complication, causing 5%–10% of deaths. Severe hypoglycemia, defined as an event that requires the assistance of another person, occurs every 6–12 months, whereas symptomatic hypoglycemia occurs twice a week.The patient described here presented with typical diabetic ketoacidosis, namely hyperglycemia, increased ketones (β-hydroxybutyrate), and metabolic acidosis (low pH and bicarbonate).
