Increased Cardiac Troponin T and N-Terminal B-Type Natriuretic Peptide in a 78-Year-Old Woman Admitted for Dizziness
[摘要] A 78-year-old female patient was admitted to a local hospital because of unspecific dizziness after taking part in a mass. She presented with rapid arrhythmic tachycardia, a low normal blood pressure, and mild pressure in her chest. There was no evidence for acute infection; the patient complained of stable exertional dyspnea (New York Heart Association class II). Known diseases were essential thrombocytosis, paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, and hypercholesterinemia. Apart from a soft systolic murmur the physical examination was unremarkable. The resting electrocardiogram showed atrial fibrillation without significant ST-segment changes. The chest X-ray showed no signs of cardiac decompensation or pneumonia.
