A Practical Method for the Determination of Fibrinogen

[摘要] A practical method for the determination of fibrinogen is presented in which thrombin is used to convert fibrinogen to fibrin and the resultant clot is hydrolyzed. The concentration of protein may be determined by the usual biuret reagent or by the phenol-biuret reagent of Lowry, if small amounts of fibrinogen are to be measured. The mean normal plasma value was found to be 295 ± 17.0 mg./100ml.Albumin or serum may be used instead of fibrinogen as a more convenient protein standard.
