Clinical diagnosis of mood disorders.

[摘要] The history of syndrome-based diagnosis is reviewed. Recent criteria for the mood disorders according to the American Psychiatric Association are presented. Issues in the differential diagnosis of the mood disorders are discussed. Finally, commonly encountered pitfalls in clinical descriptive diagnosis and their potential remedies are summarized.
