Sintetiese, termodinamiese en elektrochemiese aspekte van saamgestelde dryfmiddel komponente
[摘要] English: 2,2-di(ethylferrocenyl)propane and butacene were synthesised and evaluated in an attempt to overcome the migration tendencies of ferrocene. Both are very efficient as high burning rate catalysts in composite propellants, but the latter, in which the ferrocenyl group is covalently bonded to the propellant binder, has superior ageing characteristics. Poly epichlorohydrin was developed as an oxygen-rich energetic propellant binder in order to establish a composite propellant that burns without a smoke trace. Isophthaloyldi-1-(2-methyl)aziridine (HX-752) and a dimethylaziridine ferrocenoic conjugate were synthesised as binders. The latter was synthesised in order to develop a binder that also possesses high burning rate catalytic properties. Nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, infrared carbonyl stretching frequencies and formal reduction potentials were used to determine group electronegativities of ferrocene carbonyl derivatives of the form FcCOR with R = Fe, N3-, H, OMe, OH- and NH2. The qualitative order of electron withdrawing qualities were determined as follows: Strongest electron withdrawing: CF3(0.508mV>Fc+(0.444mV>N3-(0.387mV> H(0.366mV>CsHs(0.333)-CH3(0.331 mV>OMe(0.327mV>OH(0.319mVFc(0.263mV)-NH2(0.261 mV): weakest electron withdrawing
