Reviewing for Newbies: A Brief Guide for the Rookie Peer Reviewer

[摘要] Reviewing manuscripts is a desirable component of academic career development. Scientists should be encouraged to get involved at the earliest opportunity. For those early in their scientific careers, however, reviewing can be a challenging prospect. There is a lack of clear guidance in approaching the reviewing process practically, and young scientists may find it difficult to deliver a concise, balanced review within an acceptable time frame. This article, which is based on a recent report in Nature (1) , provides a summary for the novice referee in navigating the reviewing process.Reviewing presents an opportunity to begin building a scientific publishing career.
