[摘要] I dislike the urine drug of abuse screen (UDOA). As an emergency physician and medical toxicologist, I find that the UDOA creates unnecessary work and grief without affecting patient management, because clinicians confuse it for a diagnostic test.The UDOA is routinely ordered for emergency department patients with psychiatric and neurologic complaints to answer the following question: Is this patient's presentation caused by an intoxication?
