The Fate of Large Doses of Creatine Injected Intraperitoneally into Normal Rats

[摘要] Four young adult male rats were given an intraperitoneal injection of 227 mg. creatine and their urines collected for 48 hr. The creatine and creatinine in the carcass and urine of these 4 rats and in those of 4 control rats were determined.Eighty-nine per cent of the injected dose was recovered-83% in the urine and 6% in the carcass. The data are interpreted to indicate that there was no significant destruction of creatine under these experimental conditions in the normal rat.
