Detection and Quantitative Determination of Glycine with Pyridine and p-Nitrobenzoyl Chloride
[摘要] Glycine in quantities as small as 0.5 µg. can be detected as an orange-red color by a specific reaction with p-nitrobenzoyl chloride and pyridine. The procedure can be used both as a qualitative spot test and as a sensitive quantitative method. In a discussion of the reaction mechanism, it is suggested that the color is due to azlactone formation.
