[摘要] This case highlights that autoimmune thyroid diseases (ATD)1 may oscillate in intensity and may swing between the 2 extremes of autoantibody mediated dysfunction: hyperthyroidism to hypothyroidism or vice versa. Untreated hypothyroidism can contribute to various health conditions, including infertility. Presumably, in this case the normalization of thyroid function contributed to a successful pregnancy.Antibodies to thyroid peroxidase (TPO) and thyroglobulin (Tg) are useful markers of ATD.
