[摘要] Upon my arrival in London on a fellowship for postdoctoral studies in mid-autumn of 1966, I was provided with accommodation at the British Council Residence at Leinster Gardens, Bayswater. This is midway between the Queensway and Lancaster Gate underground stations, and within short walking distance to Kensington Gardens, which is merged seamlessly with Hyde Park.
