The Identification of Barbiturates by Paper Chromatography

[摘要] A method for the chromatographic identification of barbiturates in three different solvent systems is presented. The chromatograms are sprayed with a reagent containing salicylate, which provides an internal screen for the visualization of the barbiturates under ultra-violet light.The assembly of a simple, inexpensive chromatographic set and detailed technical procedure are described.
