Information technology-business alignment for business process efficiency at the Central Bank of Lesotho
[摘要] The Central bank of Lesotho is faced with a problem of unclear IT-businessalignment in its payment systems business area. The study is intended to help findthe causes of this lack of alignment and to also recommend ways to achieve clearIT-business alignment.The study is focused on those business untits and stakeholders within the bank whoeither work with payment systems, implement or benefit form services providedthorugh payment systems as well as the bank's management.In an attempt to deal with the primary objective of finding ways to align businessprocesses and IT to improve performance and efficiency of payment systems, theresearch on previous literature on factors that affect IT-business alignment isconducted and the research on the CBL case is carried out in contrast to theliterature findings.Findings and recommendations on the research are drawn as a response to theprimary objective of the study. The factors that impact of IT-business alignment areestablished from the research results and recommendations are made on ways toalign IT and business in the payment systems area.
