HYDRAULIC RESEARCH IN THE OOSTERSCHELDE ESTUARY

[摘要] In 1974 a major policy change was made to the Delta plan (fig. 1) to close the Oosterschelde (East Scheldt). For ecological reasons it was decided to replace the originally planned barrier dam with a storm surge barrier. This could be opened to allow normal tidal movement or closed during storm surges.
