SUCCESS AND FAILURE OF COAST PROTECTION WORKS IN CEYLON
[摘要] The Island of Ceylon, which is often referred to as the Pearl of the Indian Ocean, is 25,481 square miles in extent. It lies between 0 and 10 degrees North Latitude, and between 79 and 82 degrees East Longitude. The Island is mango-shaped. Its length from north to south is 272 miles, and its breadth from east to west is 140 miles. (Fig.1).
