WIND VARIABILITY AND EXTREME STATISTICS

[摘要] Continuous records of wind speed and direction show a high variability both in the high and low frequency ranges. This variability is usually not considered in the numerical hindcast of a storm. We discuss the related implications for the maximum wave heights and for the values from the statistics of extremes.
