MECHANISM AND ESTIMATION OF SEDIMENTATION IN BANGKOK BAR CHANNEL

[摘要] Mechanism of sedimentation in Bangkok Bar Channel in Thailand is investigated by using the periodically measured water depth around channel, dregded volume and the relation between discharged sediment concentration and discharged velocity measured at the river mouth of Chao Praya. Simple numerical simulations for predicting sedimentation volume in the channel are also carried out. The results show that both discharged sediment from the river and sedimentation around Bangkok Bar caused by waves and current play an important role in the sedimentation in the channel.
