INFLUENCES OF SPECTRAL SHAPES ON THE STATISTICAL PROPERTIES OF SIMULATED RANDOM WAVES
[摘要] Random wave fields were generated both numerically using a computer algorithm, and mechanically through a computer-controlled irregular wave generator. Statistical properties of these synthesized random waves are then compared with measured field results. It is shown that, irrespective of the methodology used, wave heights obtained from simulation always have a Rayleigh distribution, and surface elevations are approximately normally distributed, measured field data can, however, show other trend for the former with a large percentage of possibility.
