REGULATION OF NEARSHORE CIRCULATION BY SUBMERGED BREAKWATER FOR SHORE PROTECTION

[摘要] A submerged breakwater induces a circulation with onshore currents over the structure and offshore currents through gaps, resulting in sediment loss to the offshore region. A new submerged breakwater with inclined multiple blades is tested by laboratory experiments and numerical simulations. This breakwater can generate offshore currents over the structure and onshore currents through gaps suggesting onshore sediment supply.
