STRUCTURAL ASPECTS OF LIGHTHOUSE DESIGN

[摘要] The purpose of this paper is to provide an acquaintance with lighthouses, the types of structures which have been erected, the reasons for their shape and form, and the basis for design. It will be revealed as the treatise proceeds, that the technique of design of lighthouses has improved with the increase in knowledge of the forces that are acting and the behavior of materials while subjected to stresses and strains of these forces.
