[摘要] A very general model is presented for the probability distribution function for wave heights in storms with time-varying intensities Some of the possible choices for functions in the model are listed and discussed Techniques for determining the "equivalent rectangular storm" corresponding to a given historically recorded storm are developed The final model formula expresses the probabilities for a random number of random length storms each with random intensities.
