STATISTICAL INVESTIGATIONS ON DIKE FAILURE

[摘要] For the probabilistic design of dikes it is necessary to know the failure probability of the dike as function of the load of the dike (wave attack). This paper reports on the statistical analysis of the failure behaviour of the dikes around the Eastern Scheldt after the storm surge on February 1, 1953.
