CONSOLIDATION OF SOFT MARINE SOILS: UNIFYING THEORIES, NUMERICAL MODELLING AND IN SITU EXPERIMENTS

[摘要] This paper first presents a literature review of consolidation theories. A link between sedimentation and consolidation models is pointed out and a more general formulation is suggested. The constitutive relationships between the void ratio and the effective stress or the permeability are discussed from experimental data available in literature. Then a numerical modelling is used to simulate settling column tests. At last field measurements of mud characteristics are presented.
