THE MEDITERRANEAN SEA WAVE FORECASTING SYSTEM

[摘要] We describe the sea wave forecasting system presently operational at ECMWF. After a short description of the meteorological and wave models, we address specifically the problems connected to their application to the Mediterranean Sea. We consider in particular two storms, a Mistral and an African storm, whose results provide clear indication of the present forecasting capability in this area.
