A MICRO-COMPUTER BASED QUASI 3-D SEDIMENT TRANSPORT MODEL

[摘要] A quasi three-dimensional numerical model for detailed sediment transport calculations on a beach is developed for a micro-computer. It includes a complete description of the wave climate and wave induced currents over the study area. Vertical concentration profiles of suspended sediments, calculated locally to include the effects of shear stress on the bottom and the intensity of turbulence due to breaking waves, are superposed on local velocity profiles to yield sediment transport rates. Sediment transport is calibrated with laboratory experiments performed on a straight sand beach.
