The role of ancestors in African Christology: an evaluation

[摘要] English: In this thesis the role of ancestors in African Traditional Religions are evaluated from theperspective of African Christology. From a general literature study approach AfricanTraditional Religion in African theology is explained. The concept of Jesus as ancestor isalso discussed. From this view and other aspects of African theology, Christology isexplained. African Christianity is also evaluated. The role and ontology of ancestors inAfrican Traditional Religion are then discussed. From a Christian, and especially aChristological perspective, biblical aspects concerning the debate on ancestors areexplained. Monism rather than dualism regarding the human being is suggested with theimplication that the dead 'sleep until the resurrection.
