Language as an educational issue in the secondary schools of Oshikoto Region, Namibia
[摘要] The situation in is a reflection of the rest of Africa to a large extent. Their similarities arereflected in their views of the role of English as a tool for economic advancement,political unity and social mobility. They, however, differ in the use of African languagesin education. Although most African countries encourage the use of IALs as LoL T insecondary and tertiary education, in Namibia, all the schools in the Oshikoto region useEnglish as the LoLT from grade 4 to grade 12.
