. The specific volume of the crystal is 4.2 Å3/Da, suggesting an asymmetric unit with a single 100 kDa molecule and a solvent content of 71% by volume or two molecules of hexokinase with a solvent content of 41%. The complex of hexokinase with glucose crystallizes under similar conditions, giving crystals of the same morphology.
