The Palace of Auburn Hills, the prestigious new home of the world champion Detroit Pistons basketball team, is clad with curved precast concrete panels faced with colorfully patterned brick. The stadium also uses precast concrete components in other parts of the structure: double tees in the concourse, triple riser stadia in the seating area, vomitory panels, rectangular beams and steps in the aisles. This article presents the design-construction highlights of the project.
