Precast concrete shear wall panels are used extensively in high rise construction. Their attractiveness and economy are mainly due to the high quality control that is achieved at the manufacturing plant, and the ease and speed of panel assembly at the construction site. One of the main concerns in precast concrete construction is the method by which the panels are connected. Connections must provide adequate strength, ductility and continuity in order to insure the integrity of the structure under various loading conditions.
