This paper deals with the creep analysis of cracked prestressed concrete sections based on the relationship between concrete strain response and gradually varying stress given by Bazant's age-adjusted effective modulus formula. The computed results show that the long-term curvature of cracked concrete sections is much larger than that calculated for uncracked sections. Therefore, it is apparent that the creep analysis for cracked sections is important in order to estimate precisely the long-term deflection of cracked prestressed concrete members. in addition to the detailed procedure, the author also proposes an approximate calculation procedure. The analysis and proposed calculation procedure will enable designers to accurately estimate long-term section curvature of cracked prestressed sections which could result in a precise calculation of long-term deflection of the member.
