Just as the architect's involvement in this project was prompted by an earlier experience with the owner, our company was first consulted on the basis of an earlier experience with the architect. The original design for One Hundred Washington Square had called for outside walls of cast-in-place concrete with a conventional white precast concrete cladding. However, the architect's concerns about construction time prompted him to contact our office. This contact was made in August 1978, after foundation work had already begun.
