A test method for evaluating the bond of prestressing strand to concrete is presented. The test reproduces the swelling of the strand within the transfer length of pretensioned, prestressed concrete. An experimental program was conducted to compare this test and a direct tension pull-out test to experimental results from single stranded prisms. In general, the proposed test yielded more reasonable results at first slip than the direct tension pull-out test.
