General design equations are developed for the systematic design of prestressed concrete flexural members. The set of equations presented may be applied directly to the design of prismatic prestressed beams regardless of the prestressing steel profile and loading. They are intended for use with allowable concrete stress limits and the working stress design method. The equation set permits a systematic, direct design approach for general noncomposite prestressed concrete flexural members. Numerical examples are included to illustrate the application of the proposed equations.
