Plasticization of bagasse residue

[摘要] ENGLISH ABSTRACT: Auto-hydrolysis bagasse residue was used as a raw material forliquefaction with phenol to produce a novolac resin suitable formoulding applications. Sulphuric acid proved to be the most suitablecatalyst. Using addition levels of 6 %, a reaction time of 1 hour and areaction temperature of 150°C, good liquefaction of the bagasse residuecould be achieved. High-speed stirring accelerated the speed ofliquefaction. Infrared spectra indicated that the chemical structure of thephenolated bagasse was complex. An increase in phenol content resultedin higher bending and tensile strength of moulded samples .
