EVALUATION OF RUMINAL FLUID OF CATTLE AND SHEEP RAISED UNDER RANCH CONDITIONS

[摘要] This investigation was carried out to determine the reference value of the ruminal function in five cattie and five sheep. Cross-bred healthy adult field animals were used. The ruminal fluid was obtained with the aid of an esophagic tube attached to a suction pump. The parameters evaluated such as color, smell, consistency, pH, methylen blue reduction, protozoal and bacterial contents and activity were considered normal according to the literature.
