Bursera jerzyi (Burseraceae), a new arborescent species from southern Oaxaca, is described and illustrated. It belongs to sect. Bullockia and seems to be related to B. sarcopoda, from which it differs by its smooth, gray, nonexfoliating bark, crenate leaflet margins, sparse pubescence, and the shape and size of the fruits.
