Granulomatous Pododermatitis in the Digits Caused by Fusariumproliferatum in a Cat

[摘要] References(23)To the best of our knowledge, we present here the first report of a caseinvolving granulomatous pododermatitis caused by Fusarium proliferatum ina 10-year-old female cat. A cutaneous mass developed on the foot-pad of the right hindleg. Nodular granulomatous dermatitis with numerous macrophages and multinucleated giantcells containing cytoplasmic fungal structures were revealed on histological examination.Periodic acid-Schiff reaction and Fungi-Fluor staining clearly revealed irregular, septatefungal hyphae englobed by macrophages and multinucleated giant cells. Polymerase chainreaction and sequence analysis targeting three domains of the extracted fungal DNArevealed 100% amplicon homology with F. proliferatum.
