First state records are provided for nine Mexican species of the subfamily Staphylininae (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae). Known distribution is included and the importance of the first records is commented. Belonuchus erichsoni Bernahuer, B. godmani (Sharp), Philonthus hoegei Sharp and P. testaceipennis Erichson are recorded for the first time from Hidalgo; Belonuchus bidens Sharp and, Plociopterus fetialisz (Erichson) from Puebla; Styngetus adrianae Navarrete-Heredia from Distrito Federal; Homalolinus neovulcanicus Márquez from Guerrero and, Hesperus fasciatus (Sharp) from Querétaro.
