Geocharidius integripennis was described by Bates (1882) with some specimens distributed among the museums of London and Paris. Errors independently generated by different authors (Jeannel 1936, 1963; Vigna Taglianti 1973; Erwin 1982) are corrected. Geocharidius tagliantii Erwin, 1982, is established as a new synonym of G. integripennis. The female genital of this species is described, and nomination of the valid type series is presented.
