Escarabajos coprofagos (Coleoptera: Scarabaeoidea) asociados a hongos en la Sierra Madre Occidental, Durango, México: con una compilación de las especies micetófagas
[摘要] I present a list beetles (Coleoptera: Scarabaeoidea) associated to decaying macrofungal fruit bodies in an oak-pine forest in the Sierra Madre Occidental, Durango, Mexico. A total of 1077 adult beetles were found in 78 analised fruit bodies. These beetles included six species: Aphodius sp, Ceratotrupes bolivari Halffter y Martínez, Oniticellus rhinocerulus Bates, Onthophagus fuscus fuscus Boucomont, Onthophagus cochisus Brown and Copris klugi sierrensis Matthews. Of these, O. rhinocerulus showed mycetophilous-saprophagous association. Given its abundance this species is considered the main macro-fungal fruit bodies decomposer at the study site. A. sp, C. bolivari, O. fuscus fuscus, O. cochisus and C. klugi sierrensis are classified as mycetoxens. Species of the genus Boletus was the taxa significant used by these beetles. Additionally, I include a list of those beetles species that have been reported to be associated to fungi by other workers.
