Recent situation and perspectives of the Coleopterological collection of Facultad de Estudios Superiores Zaragoza, UNAM, is presented. The collection consists of 1260 specimens and 320 species from 33 families. Six species are identified only to family level, 16 to subfamily level, seven to tribe level, 192 to generic level and 99 to specific level. The families Chrysomelidae, Melolonthidae and Curculionidae are the most important in species number and specimens. From the species recorded from Mexico, this collection has 2.7%, and 25.4% of the families cited. Most of the specimens are from Morelos. The specimens identified to generic o specific level are listed.
